The Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (MPE) is a key player in the implementation and monitoring of the government’s policy on energy conservation and the promotion of renewable energy. In 2003, the Government of Senegal signed a Lettre de Politique de Développement du Secteur de l’Energie (LPDSE) expressing, among other things, its willingness to further involve the private sector.
COPERES, as the representative of private sector actors in the field of renewable energy, is associated with the MEP programmes.
